Autumn approaches! The fruit ripens, it’s time to harvest, the leaves will be displaying their blazing colors soon. It’s a perfect time for wandering in Warren County, to pick apples or pick up freshly squeezed cider, to take on the challenge of a corn maze or traipse among acres of sunflowers, or just to enjoy nature's most glorious days of the year. Here are some ideas for you and your family to help you plan your fall fun at our farms.

Donaldson’s Greenhouse & Nursery is located on a portion of the Donaldson family farm, in existence for more than 100 years. Open year-round. Full-service greenhouse and nursery, with top quality plant material including annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, soils and mulches, pottery and garden related items. Everything from outdoor ponds and water gardens, to statuary and quality gardening tools are available. Classes and workshops are offered for your planting and decorating needs.

Their 15 varieties of pick-your-own apples are the main attraction, but they also have pick-your-own pumpkins for Halloween, and a berry patch with raspberries and blackberries, as well as jams, jellies, and honey. There are also hayrides for the kids or those just young at heart, and the annual Harvest Festival September 29.
Now in its eighth generation, Mackey's grows apples, peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, apricots, cherries and raspberries, plus thousands of annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, trees, shrubs and vegetables. The bakery features fruit pies and gourmet pastries, while Mackey's Ice Cream Barn is home to 42 flavors of homemade hard ice cream. Pick your own apples and cherries, and have fun on a hayride.

Founded in 1920, the farm market sells fruit, vegetables, and specialty foods, plus gifts, outdoor furniture, meats, cheeses, pumpkins, and more. Hay rides and the Halloween Hollow display offered for the fall; stop by to enjoy a cup of apple cider on a cool autumn day.
Pack a picnic basket, bring a blanket or sit in the gazebo and enjoy the peace and tranquility among hundreds of English, French and Spanish lavenders. The shop offers a variety of natural, handmade lavender products including bath and body, household, culinary, teas, sachets, wreaths, unique gifts, home and garden decor and of course, lavender bundles both fresh (when in season and while supplies last) and dry as well as lavender buds. Also honey from their hives and fresh eggs from the City Girl Flock. The farm is the idyllic setting for artists and photographers to capture the beauty of the lavender field and its beautiful surroundings. Yoga classes, dinners, paint classes and other events offered throughout the season.
The pick-your-own farm runs through Oct. 31 and features peaches, tomatoes, peppers, beans, candy onions, garlic and more. Free hayrides on fall weekends – pack a picnic and relax in their beautiful picnic area. Meanwhile, the Farm Stand and Garden Center at 224 Route 94, Blairstown, has vegetables and fruit, as well as seasonal greenhouses full of perennials, annuals, fruit and vegetable plants for every gardening need, plus homemade baked goods, soups, hummus, cider donuts, ice cream, honey, pastas, jams, jellies, local grass fed beef, poultry and dairy products.
Pick your own or have them pick it for you, with fresh goods from the farm store year-round, plus eggs, cheeses, jellies and maple syrup, as well as Vermont cheese, preserves, relishes, salad dressings and more. The 7-acre, military-themed Corn Maze is open through November 11, Wednesday through Sunday, 11am-6pm. Also offering variety of classes and community programs like a women’s business owner group and Knot My Style Girls Boot Camp. Also, connect with local veteran groups and help support them with fundraisers and incentives for participation in their efforts.
