Warren County Library and Centenary Stage Co. Offer Free Halloween Make-Up Demo

The Centenary Stage Company will lead a special FREE Halloween Make-Up Demonstration at the Warren County Library's new Southwest Branch in Stewartsville on October 13, 2018. The  1 p.m. event will be held in the meeting room of  the library located at 404 Route 519, Stewartsville, NJ. Registration is limited and should be reserved in advanced by calling librarian Erin Sobczak at (908) 689-7922.

The world of Vampires and Zombies will come alive in the demonstration, featuring hands-on instruction in theatrical makeup for aspiring performers and trick-or-treaters. Participants in the fun and free demonstration will learn to transform their face with the magic of theatrical makeup. During the demonstration participants will learn some of the basics of makeup application with regard to trauma simulation with applications into the world of vampires and zombies.

Workshop instructor Stephen Davis, a Professor of the Centenary University Theater program and a Centenary Stage Company teaching artist, will take students through some of the basics of application, with a lucky few individuals able to walk out of the class transformed into the world of the “walking dead.” Additional theatrical makeup application techniques (old age, fantasy, animals) may be explored depending on time.
