Starting January 22, 2020

“But pleasures are like poppies spread, You seize the flower, it's bloom is shed;
Or, like the snow-fall in the river, A moment white, then melts forever.”
― Robert Burns (1759-1796)  from Tam O'Shanter

As people around the world this week are marking the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns, who gave us Auld Lang Syne and other classic works, we thought a bit of his poetry paired nicely with this beautiful photo of the icy Delaware River at Belvidere by David Gulick. But we disagree with Burns when he wrote "now our joys are fled on winter blasts awa' " because there are plenty of pleasures to bring you joy despite the chilly weather, from taking a stroll to see nature's beauty, to the events you'll find as you read on. Meanwhile, let's wish everyone Gung Hay Fat Choy, as the Year of the Rat begins Saturday. If this has you hankering for Chinese food, check out our Where to Eat page to find a favorite restaurant. Happy Burns Day, Happy New Year, and Happy Wanderings!
