Warren County History Museums Open

Spend an afternoon visiting the Jim and Mary Lee Museum at Plane 9 West in the Port Warren Heritage Area, Stewartsville - it's the final Sunday before that site closes for the season - and the Warren County History Museum at Morris Canal Bread Lock Park in New Village, too. These two museums, both located at sites on the route of the old Morris Canal, are open and staffed by volunteers today, 1-4pm. Learn how the canal boats moved up and down the hills of northern New Jersey as they traversed the state from from Port Delaware – AKA Phillipsburg – to Jersey City. Walk the towpath trail, and learn about other aspects of Warren County's rich history.

An All-Star Quintet Honoring Bucky Pizzarelli

Rutherfurd Hall was to kick off its 2017-18 Jazz series with legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli but due to Bucky's sudden illness he will be unable to perform. The event will continue, however, with the following outstanding musicians: Ed Laub, a master of the 7-string guitar; Bucky's son Martin Pizzarelli on bass; Aaron Weinstein on violin; Tomoko Ohno on piano and Nick Scheuble on percussion. Tickets: $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Fall Fest Weekends at Tranquillity Farms

On the vine pumpkin-picking, hayrides, pumpkin launchers and corn cannons, corn maze, bounce pillow and cow grain are among the fun waiting for you and your family. No admission fee to visit the farm, and some activities are free, but others have fees.

Blairstown Farmers' Market

Now in its 10th season and accepting SNAP! The Market runs every Saturday 10am-2pm and features a variety of local farmers with truly local food - all sourced within a 25 mile radius - plus artisans, speakers, workshops, musicians and children’s activities.

The Great Pumpkin Train

In the month of October, every Delaware River Railroad Excursion train is The Great Pumpkin Train. Every child gets to pick their own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. $18/adult; $12/child. Trips leave 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3:30pm.

Astronomy Talk & See the Evening Stars at UACNJ Observatory

The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey weekly free public program is This week's program is: "What's up in the October Sky?" with Lonny Buinis, RVCC. The astronomy presentation begins at 8pm in the lecture hall regardless of the weather, and is followed by stargazing on the observatory's telescopes until 10:30pm, weather permitting, in Jenny Jump State Forest.

Friday the 13th Screenings at Roy's Hall

Hurry! The three showings originally scheduled have SOLD OUT so they added an earlier show! The original Friday The 13th was filmed in northern Warren County, and whenever that date rolls around, Jason Voorhees roams the streets and alleys of downtown Blairstown in tribute to the 1980 cult slasher classic. Horror film fanatics from across the country flock to the area to tour the local filming locations, concluding their visit with a screening of the movie at Roy's Hall. Tickets now available online! Martin Barre of Jethro Tull at Roy's Hall

Guitarist of Jethro Tull for 43 years, Martin Barre's sound and playing having been a major factor in their success and earned him a high level of respect and recognition. With Jethro Tull taking a long break from touring, Martin has put together a band to play the classic music from the Tull catalogue, giving Tull fans and a broader audience the chance to hear tracks not performed for many years. The band includes top musicians from a similar background.

Riverside Fall Festival at Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead
