We’re running into summer full force like a yard sprinkler and splashing into June’s issue, packed with music, festivals and fairs, historic tours and talks, hikes for National Trail Day, and much more!

Seems we’ve got swimming on our mind, probably because the newly renovated Walters Park Pool in Phillipsburg, pictured above, is celebrating its Grand Opening Saturday, June 3 with a 1pm dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony followed by swim time! Centenary Stage Company, the not-for-profit theatre company based in Hackettstown, just announced the professional performances for their 38th season. Productions from the Professional Theatre Series, Fringe Festival, NEXTstage Repertory, Women Playwright’s Series, plus plenty of Concert events will make up the company’s 2023 – 2024 season. Early access to tickets and seat selection for the entire CSC season will open to all returning and new Season Subscribers and Flex Pass holders on June 19, while individual ticket sales go live on July 1 at the box office and through their website.

This 5.5 mile hike around the reservoir, which features mixed deciduous forests and sweeping vistas, will be an opportunity to learn about the history, geology and forests in New Jersey, and how the reservoir was formed. An optional gathering will happen at Buttzville Brewing after the hike.

Shippen Manor Museum Tours

Docents will be available to give tours of the Manor and the history of the people and the local industry of Oxford. Sept. 3 starts a new series, "On the Daily", in which docents present on a variety of topics in the workers' kitchen. "Laundry Day" is a presentation on how women did the laundry in the 18th century. Sept. 10 focuses on "Shippen & The Revolution" with an encampment by the 2nd NJ, with regimental firing demonstration, a picket march for the kids, a medical table and discussion about how the troops dealt with injury and illness, children's activities and more.

Ticket Sales Start Soon for Centenary Stage Company's 2023-2024 Season

Centenary Stage Company, the not-for-profit theatre company based in Hackettstown, just announced the professional performances for their 38th season. Productions from the Professional Theatre Series, Fringe Festival, NEXTstage Repertory, Women Playwright’s Series, plus plenty of Concert events will make up the company’s 2023 – 2024 season. Early access to tickets and seat selection for the entire CSC season will open to all returning and new Season Subscribers and Flex Pass holders on June 19, while individual ticket sales go live on July 1 at the box office and through their website.
