Remember in November (11/2023)

"I have often wondered what it is an old building can do to you when you happen to know a little about things that went on long ago in that building." - Carl Sandburg (1878-1967), Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, biographer, journalist, and editor

"We are the only country in the world that trashes its old buildings. Too late we realize how very much we need them." Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994), former First Lady of the United States

The Explore Warren History Trail weekend is upon us! With 14 sites open to the public on either Saturday or Sunday, this third annual event welcomes families to explore these destinations, some dating back before the American Revolution. Pictured is Ramsaysburg Homestead in Knowlton, which will concurrently host a Fall Festival on Saturday. Tour maps will be available at each site.

Veterans Day is November 11, and you’ll find multiple events throughout the county honoring their sacrifice.

Roy’s Hall is cranking out the tunes this month, while other establishments are getting a jump on the gift-giving season. Well-Sweep Herb Farm features its Christmas in the Country running through December; Kathy’s Kove is featuring a Fair Trade Holiday Market with sustainable and mindful gifts from around the world; and there's even a Harvest of Quilts quilt show.

This year's Family Holiday Spectacular at Centenary Stage Company is The Little Mermaid, the tale of Ariel, a sea creature who longs for more adventure above the waves.

We know it's early, but reservations are now open for Shippen Manor’s Victorian Candlelight Christmas tours. Space is limited so don’t delay!

And there's so much more, so let's get on with it! Happy November, Happy History Trail and Happy Wanderings!
