18th Century Carpentry at Shippen Manor

Scott Lance demonstrates 18th century carpentry and joining techniques along the lower driveway of the Manor. Meanwhile, the Friends of Shippen will be giving "Porch Tours" near the museum entrances on the boardwalk, along the upper driveway.

Shippen Manor is an 18th century restored iron master's residence, associated with Oxford Furnace, and run by Warren County's Division of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, Department of Land Preservation, as a musem and historic site.

Shippen Manor

Shippen Manor is a c.1754 iron master’s residence built by Dr. William Shippen, Sr. The Shippens were socially prominent members of a wealthy Philadelphia family. The museum offers guided tours on the 1st and 2nd Sundays from May to December, except on holidays.
