Centenary U. Lecture Series: Muslim Responses to ISIS

Wednesday, April 12, 2017 - 7:00pm

The Centenary University Lecture Series sponsored by the House of the Good Shepherd presents speaker Noah Haiduc-Dale, Assistant Professor of History, on Muslim Responses to ISIS.

Last year, Noah gave a presentation covering the history of political Islam and the rise of its contemporary radical forms. In response to his contention that most Muslims abhor the sort of violence and theology espoused by ISIS, he was asked how Muslims do respond to ISIS. This talk will cover the variety of Muslim responses to 21st Century radicalism, ranging from those in agreement with radical concerns but opposed to their methodology to those espousing a fundamentally different theology.

This free lecture is presented at Rutherfurd Hall in Allamuchy, and no reservations are needed. The lecture series presents professors from Centenary University in Hackettstown speaking about their areas of expertise. Each lecture lasts about an hour, followed by a Q&A session, tea and light snacks.
