This old-time tavern celebrates its heritage as a speakeasy during Prohibition days with a special event during Phillipsburg's Ole Towne Festival, featuring 1920s music, bootlegger cars, costumes, and a sale/signing by author Richard H. Dalrymple, Jr. of his book The Bootleggers of Montana Mountain: A Rural New Jersey Community's Prohibition Experience.
Steve's Cafe - then known as the Morris House - was an outlet for those bootleggers of nearby Montana Mountain.
